Frank just said pro wrestling and MMA are the same business, just that this business is less dangerous and they work less dates. Lashley controlling him on the ground. They announced this for 10/9 in San Jose:

Luke Rockhold vs. Matt Lindland

They are interviewing Rockhold. They said he's unbeaten but he's actually lost once. They are trying to push Rockhold as a new star. Predicted Jacare to dominate positions in the first two rounds, and Kennedy would start taking over in the third or fourth round.

K.J. Noons vs. Jorge Gurgel

Gurgel landed a big right. Body kick by Gurgel and Noons fired back with a right. Noons looks noticeably bigger of the two. Gurgel just missed on a head kick. Gurgel landed a few more punches. Gurgel moving a lot more. Noons with a left. Noons with a flurry. Gurgel has a problem with his left eye already.Gurgel with a kick but Noons back with a body shot. Bonked heads as Noons came in. Noons landed a combination, low kick and jab using his reach. Gurgel not even trying a takedown. Hard right by Noons. Gurgel landed a right. Trading low kicks and Gurgel’s low kick was better. Gurgel landing a series of punches but Gurgel is playing Noons’ game. Gurgel landing more punches. Low kick by Noons. Gurgel went for a takedown and didn’t come close, then missed a flying knee. Two body shots by Noons. Jab by Noons. Hard right and left hook by Noons. More body shots by Noons. High kick by Gurgel. And another high kick Noons. Gurgel with a series of punches and at the bell, Noons decked him with a left hook and knocked him silly. The punch that dropped him was after the bell but it wasn’t deliberate.

Gurgel is coming out for the second round. Noons decked him again. Noons landed a left and right and then stopped. The ref didn’t stop it. Noons then had to start pounding but then Noons threw an illegal kick and the ref stopped it. Gurgel’s left eye looks like hell. That kick on the ground was bad, the officiating here was really bad.

Cary Hatley gave it to Noons. Geez, a punch after the bell and an illegal kick. This was the first time Gurgel has ever been knocked out.

They tried to bury Jake Shields on the way out saying that twice he was offered fights with Souza but both times turned the fight down.

Tim Kennedy vs. Ronaldo Jacare Souza for the middleweight title

USA chant. Trading and missing. Front kick by Souza. Jacare hurt Kennedy with a right. Jacare landed several rights. Kennedy high kick but blocked. Slow paced early. Good left by Kennedy. Good right now by Kennedy. Both trading. Jacare landed punches and front kick and Kennedy back with a good right. Jacare with a series of punches. Both these guys are great ground fighters and neither even thinking takedown. Pretty clear Kennedy’s game plan is to wait for Jacare to get tired. Kenendy landed a hard left that put Jacare down. Jacare back up. Kennedy with knees and and uppercut. To me Kennedy won slightly with that last left. 10-9 Kennedy

Kennedy snuck in with a series landing a good right. Kennedy went in for a takedown but didn’t get it. Jacare landed a right. Trading punches, I thought Jacare landing better. Now at close range both throwing. Low kick by Kennedy. Jacare landing more punches. Both guys are tentative. Jacare shot but didn’t get the takedown. Again, both in close and trading. Crowd pretty quiet. Superman punch by Kennedy. Body shot by Souza. Push kick to the face by Souza and a right landed. Souza’s round, 19-19. Very good chance Souza won the first on some cards since it was close.

Frank gave round two to Kennedy, has it one round apiece but we each have different guys winning their rounds. I guess that shows how close the two rounds have been.

In a clinch and Kennedy throwing knees. Kennedy in with a superman punch. Souza throwing punches but all blocked. Now Souza landed a few. Kennedy cut over the left eye from an overhand right. Souza got through with punches. Front kick by Souza. Takedown by Kennedy. Jacare is great off his back but didn’t do anything here and got back up. Kennedy bleeding badly. Jacare landed a left. A trade and Souza landed last shot. Souza’s round 29-28 lead for him.

Shamrock agreed that it was Souza’s round. For what it’s worth, stats in the round on striking favored Kennedy.

Souza does not look tired. Good right by Kennedy. Body kick by Kennedy. Jacare tried a takedown and Kennedy blocked it. Both standing. Hard overhand right by Souza. Jacare said he was kicked low and they got a time out. Kennedy’s left eye looks like hell. Souza definitely taking his time to get back in action. Kennedy went for a takedown and Souza sprawled. Kennedy tried a high kick but was blocked. Both not landing now. Very little action late in the round, crowd is even booing. I have the round for Souza 39-37 but once again Kennedy did land more punches when it comes to quantity. Who knows what the judges have. Kennedy may need a finish in round five.

Kennedy landed a left. Kennedy landed a left. Low kick and jab by Jacare. Kennedy landing several punches. Low kick by Kennedy. Jacare landed a right which was the best punch of the round. Souza landing more punches. Kennedy went for a takedown and Souza nailed him with a punch to the eye. Knee by Kennedy. Low kick by Kennedy. Body shot by Kennedy. Souza missed a few punches. Crowd booing. Nobody is dominating. Souza now has Kennedy against the cage but let him back out. Kennedy went for a takedown. Jacare got Kennedy’s back. Kennedy escapes from the bad position. Somebody needs to go and win the round. Hard right by Souza. Kennedy got behind him and suplexed Souza at the bell. That suplex almost tied the round up. They both landed 14 punches in the round but Souza’s punches were stronger. I’ve got Souza 49-46 but enough close rounds that Kennedy has a shot, but I don’t think so.

Unanimous decision 49-46, has to be Souza, 48-47 yep, Souza.

King Mo vs. Rafael Feijao Cavalcante

Mauro Ranallo said Mo was styling and profiling like his hero Ric Flair.

Mo landed a series of punches in close and has Feijao’s back. Mo throwing knees to the thigh. Back suplex by Mo but Feijao back up. Mo throwing lot of knees to thigh. Feijao is physically bigger, looks 15-20 pounds heavier. Mo landed a big overhand right. Feijao back with a left. Feijao throwing jabs. Good uppercut and knee by Feijao . Mo picked Feijao up but Feijao stayed on his feet. Mo missed a punch badly. Feijao with punches and a knee. Mo with a hard right. Left by Mo. Good low kick by Feijao. Feijao may have won the round late, Mo won the first half of the round for sure. Could go either way but I’ve got 10-9 for Mo, but I do think Feijao has more of a mental edge by blocking takedowns and doing better late with the punches.

Frank gave round one to Feijao. Mo did land more.

Mo threw a flurry of punches but did no real damage. Low kick by Feijao. King Mo chant. Good high kick by Feijao but Mo got the takedown and Mo is on top. Body punches by Mo on the ground. Feijao got back up. Feijao doing a great job of blocking takedowns and his ability to get up against someone like Mo is impressive. Round is still close. Mo with a series of body shots. More body shots by Mo. Feijao landed a left jab. Mo missed a big punch. A series of body shots by Mo. Mo moved in with more punches. Fejaio with a jab. More body punches by Mo. Mo with body punches and a few more punches. Mo moved in for a takedown and Feijao blocked it. Really impressive how Feijao blocks his takedowns. But this was definitely Mo’s round 20-18.

Hard right by Feijao and another right and knee. Mo back with punches. Mo back with punches. Feijao landed knees and punches. Mo is in real trouble . Mo is hurt but back up. Feijao with elbows to the head as Mo is working for the takedown. Mo is taking a lot of punishment with one elbow after another to the head. Mo went limp and ref John McCarthy stopped the fight so we’ve got a new champion in Feijao.
