UFC 123 is being lined up for Chicago’s United Center on November 20th, according to a report from the US today.
The report, courtesy of MMA Recap, says a deal is about to be finalized but is still pending “mainly due to rules and regulations by the state with regards to how far in advance a promotion can declare an event.”
A fight between Lyoto Machida and Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson has already been signed for November 20th but today’s report, citing multiple sources, says a fight between Jon Jones and Forrest Griffin is also likely for the event.
The UFC has hit Chicago once before, with UFC 90 taking place at the Allstate Arena in November 2008. That event was headlined by Anderson Silva defending his middleweight title belt against Patrick Cote.
The United Center plays home to the Chicago Bulls (NBA) and the Chicago Blackhawks (NHL) as well as other other large sporting events.
